Coastal Path Crackle Candle

£18.99

The Norfolk Coastline in over 90 Miles long and there is a Coastal Path (opened in 1986), that runs from Hunstanton (Sunny Hunny) in the West to Hopton-On-Sea in the East.

Glorious clean and unspoilt beaches are all along, with either just you and nature or busy with tourists in the larger resorts.  There is really somewhere for everyone, whether you are a surfer, fossil hunter, bird watcher, seal watcher, sailor, crabber, fisherman, thrill seeker, sun worshipper, hiker, cyclist, swimmer……….Norfolks Coast has it all.

Off the coast between Sheringham and Cromer lies the longest chalk reef bed in the World, and formed over 100,000 million years ago.  Probably why it’s such a great breeding ground for Crabs and why they are so tasty.

In between these seaside towns lay West Runton where the largest, most complete skeleton  of a Woolly Mammoth were discovered.  Other prehistoric finds include a Flint Axe and footprints at Happisburgh, over 550,000 years ago, when Humans first came to Britain by land when it was still connected to Europe !  The coastline has been given the title Deep History Coast.

Blakeney & Horsey beaches see the largest Common & Grey Seal colonies in Britain, where the mothers come to shore to pup and feed their offspring.

North Norfolk is also one of the few places where you may be lucky to see the “Northern Lights”, aurora borealis, at Kelling Heath & Wiveton Downs (both places being declared Dark Sky Discovery Status).

Holkham beach is the annual holiday destination for the Queens Household Cavalry.  It is truly a magnificent sight seeing these splendid horses relaxed and racing along the sandy beaches and swimming in the sea.
